Not that you need another reason to keep up to date with our incredibly informational and downright humorous tweets, (let us pretend @standingdog is in your Twitter list called “Tweets I can’t live without”), we’ve added one more: We’ll be live tweeting from f8 today!
If you’re thinking “You mean that key between f7 and f9 at the top of my keyboard that means ‘eject’ on some keyboards and ‘reboot in safe mode’ on others?” then you’re not alone. I thought the same thing. But I’m going to chalk that up to the fact that I’m a writer, not a developer, which is probably why the boss man didn’t send me to f8: the Facebook developer conference in San Francisco.
But he did send Chris Reeves and Nick Spencer, two of our talented, brilliant developers, with the company iPad, Flip cam and the following instructions (I may have tweaked these slightly):
- Clone yourselves and go to every single session so we can learn everything we need to learn to sky rocket our clients’ social media success.
- Live tweet throughout the sessions so I can pretend like I’m there. (And so can you!)
- Have a picnic in front of the Full House house and make sure to play the theme song. This is where the Flip cam comes in handy.
They’ll be live tweeting from the Standing Dog Twitter account (@standingdog) and they’ll use their initials so you know whose tweet you’re reading. They’ll also be using the hashtag #f8 so you’ll be able to tell which tweets are coming from San Fran.
While the latest Facebook changes might have left a bad taste in some of our mouths (an aftertaste of ice cream and tears, for one of our employees), we’re excited to hear about new features and techniques we can use to further improve our clients’ marketing strategies. We’ll be sharing what we learn 140 characters at a time.
We hope you follow along. Happy tweeting!
