Google prepares to launch “Google Offers”

The Internets a buzz coming off the heels of a CEO shift at Google yesterday. But the rumors at Google this morning isn’t about their new CEO, it’s about a new group deals program called “Google Offers”.

Similar to Groupon and Living Social, Google Offers users will receive a daily e-mail with a local deal of the day. Users will then have the opportunity to purchase the daily deal and the offer will be triggered once the minimum amount of coupons has been exceeded.

Google Offers comes just months after the search giant tried to purchase their now competitor Groupon for $6 billion. Google could prove to be a powerful player in the group deals industry due to their reach and brand recognition. This announcement will leave all marketers asking – Would you consider running your promotion with Google over Groupon or Living Social due to their recognition and reach?
