On July 31, Google will delete all Google+ profiles that are still private. To make your Google+ profile public, simply follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to your profile
Step 2: Click “Edit Profile” in the top right corner
Step 3: Scroll down to the bottom of your options and click “Visible in Search”
Step 4: Check the Search Visibility box and click “Save”
Step 5: Make sure you have entered your name at the top of your profile
Step 6: Also, select a gender
And that’s all you need to do to ensure your Google+ profile survives the Great Private Profile Purge of 2011. I’m pretty sure that’s what people are calling it.

Great tip. I assumed that Orkut would be Facebook’s competitor but it never caught on here except in some Lain American countries like Brazil. Over time, it will definitely transition into a business social strategy but it will be interesting to see how as Facebook is already established as part of a company’s social communications platform.
